The students are demanding improvements to the education system, they want affordable education at high school and college level. The young population is very unsatisfied with inequality of opportunities, with a small part of the population holding all the privileges.
The President response to these protests that have been going on for months and that had more than 100.000 people participating was a $4 billion package in education reforms. The students were not satisfied, they want deeper changes in the educational system.
The demonstrations are mostly peaceful, and let us hope that they will stay this way, because we have seen in the last weeks confront between the police and the students.
