Emmanuel Jal

Emmanuel Jal is a former Sudanese child soldier. At the age of 7 he was recruited by SPLA (Sudan People's Liberation Army). After fighting for 5 years and being exposed to the horrors of the war as a child, he and other 300 children ran away. Only a handful survived the journey to a safe place. Now he is known worldwide by his music and its powerful message.

I had the pleasure of meeting him. He came to my university to tell the story of his life and sing some of his songs.

After learning about his story, check the website of his organization: http://www.gua-africa.org/

Make a donation, and help him on supporting African individuals and families, to overcome the effects of war and poverty.
